Media Productions (formerly iTV Studio) by Continuing Studies advances excellence in education, communication and lifelong learning through supporting the creation of enriching media for university leadership, faculty, staff, and students.
We strive to be a partner within our community providing the creativity and technical expertise to assist in telling the stories of our university and in sharing knowledge with all Rutgers learners. We do this through a multi-channel approach:
- We support globally accessible, largescale, broadcast-quality productions.
- We guide faculty and instructors in the creation of engaging teaching materials.
- We offer real-world experiences and hands-on learning opportunities for students preparing for futures in our media rich world.
With a long history of service at Rutgers University, our productions have aired locally and worldwide, garnering awards such as New York and Mid-Atlantic Emmys. Since 1965, our large production studio has occupied one of the original Camp Kilmer Army buildings on the Livingston Campus. In 2019, we expanded to include production space at the Lifelong Learning Center on Cook Campus. At the Lifelong Learning Center, our Academic Media team works in close proximity to our Division’s Teaching & Learning with Technology and Game & Immersive Design experts. We look forward to working with you on your next project!

They specialize in high-profile projects, live streaming and special projects. They also manage the studio space on Livingston campus.
Academic Media
The Academic Media team provides multimedia services in support of the learning and teaching goals of the Rutgers academic community. They work with faculty, instructors and non-credit programs to create effective and engaging media materials for all instructional modalities (online, hybrid or in-person). Embedded with Teaching and Learning with Technology, they work in tandem with instructional design experts. This team manages the studio space at the Lifelong Learning Center on Cook Campus.
Scarlet Media
Scarlet Media encompasses Media Productions by Continuing Studies’ student engagement offerings, especially our student videography team. The Scarlet Media team provides clients from the Rutgers community with a range of services, covering small to medium-scale projects. Typical projects include short event recordings, interviews, creation of videos for website or social media, and highlight reels. The student team also produces original content and supports our training workshops that are part of our digital badge programs. Scarlet Media offers students opportunities for learning, hands-on experience, employment, leadership, and creative expression and operates from the studio on Livingston campus alongside the Broadcast Services team.
